Founded in 1910, Scouts BSA, has provided many opportunities for youth, ages 11-17, to explore the great outdoors and, more importantly, discover their place in it. As they progress through the program they develop a stronger foundation of interpersonal skills that will help them navigate an ever increasingly connected world. Troop 207 was founded in the 1960’s and continued until 1996. With the help of Living Hope Church, and the shared goal of community outreach, Troop 207 was restarted in the Fall of 2016. Since then Living Hope Church and Troop 207 have worked to provide numerous opportunities for the youth in our community.

Scouts who participate in the program learn how to be fair and effective leaders, through struggle and perseverance they build strength of character, and by exploring the outdoors they learn what it means to be conservation minded. They also learn how to serve. Whether it be through volunteering at  local Food Share programs, preparing meals and treats for animal shelters, or providing community enrichment through the Eagle Scout Project program, Scouts learn the importance of serving. The Scout slogan is Do a Good Turn Daily. That means doing something to help others each day without expecting anything in return. It implies that Scouts do their part in caring for the community and the environment. Scouts also go on many adventures outdoors, from local bike rides and hikes, backpacking in Joshua Tree National Park, to camping at Emerald Bay.
